Directions for mounting the skids
Mark the centerof the positioning knob with a scribe or other sharp object.
Place the knob into the skid, and fit the skid onto the the base tube in its final position, leaving the lid open.
Then mark the base tube in line with thecenter mark on the positioning knob.
Remove the skid, and outline the knob position onto the base tube.
* We recommend making a hole in the knob to access the fastening screw when mounting onto an Aerosbase tube.
Sand the surface of the base tube inside the markings with 60-80 grit sand paper. All dirt and any shine from the finish should be completely removed.
Use 2 component epoxy resin (5 minute epoxy will do), thickening the epoxy with cotton flocks or something similar like baking soda. Put the resign around the edge of the inner surface of the knob.
Position the knob onto the base tube. Use high tensile stength tape to pull the knob to the rear and down wrapping the tape around the trailing edge so that the knob stays in position as the resin cures.
Wipe any excess resin away with a rag.
Use a clap or a small c-clamp to add some pressure at the rear edge of the knob, so that it fits snuggly to the base tube around the entire gluing surface.
